President Obama is in the process of destroying America while GOP leaders sit on their hands and fret over how to respond to his radical, left wing socialist policies.
Sarah Palin, America's most successful and popular governor, is the only prominent Republican who has shown the courage to come out and criticize Obama for his destructive policies that are stripping away our individual freedoms and destroying our economy. Sarah warned last week that Obama wants to control the American people's lives. During a speech in Alaska, Governor Palin warned that Obama is planning to "bail out debt ridden states" so he can "get in there and control the people". Sarah declared "we need to be aware of the creation of a fearful population, and fearful lawmakers being led to believe that big government is the answer to bail out the private sector, because then government gets to get in there and control it". Alaska's Governor further warned, "...mark my words, this is going to be next, I fear, bail out the next debt ridden states. Then government gets to get in there and control the people".
Palin's warning of government controlling the people should terrify all freedom loving Americans. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger already has his tin cup out looking for a government bail out for California. If Obama starts bailing out the states, you can kiss Federalism and state rights goodbye. Your individual freedoms are already being stripped away one by one. Our government was founded by our Founding Fathers so that the federal government would serve the states AND the people. Not the other way around.
While weak kneed Republicans travel the country on their pathetic "listening tour", Sarah Palin is giving Americans a teaching moment. Some Republican leaders want you believe that we need to move on from the era of Reagan and moderate the party. Change our principles to appeal to Democrats and Independents to create a big tent. This strategy failed miserably in 2008, and is a guaranteed strategy for perpetual defeat in the future.
Leaders in the GOP resent Sarah Palin because she is an intelligent, small town values, plain spoken American. Not a country club northeastern elitist like themselves. Sarah knows in her heart what is best for the American people. She does not need focus groups and polls to help form her policies and positions. No wonder Mitt Romney and other Republicans are afraid of her and continue to take cheap shots at her.
Governor Palin does not need to invoke Reagan in her speeches because she IS the real deal in the mold of Reagan. And she inspires people-young and old. Ronald Reagan saved America, and so can Sarah Palin. Palin has all three legs of the conservative stool - fiscal conservative, social conservative, and strong national defense. And you can't beat her on energy policy. Governor Palin believes the individual and free markets will make our country stronger and more prosperous. Not bigger government.
After the 2008 election, I thought if Sarah Palin wanted to pursue the presidency it would be wise to not run in 2012. She is young with plenty of time ahead of her. I thought the best course of action would be to complete two successful terms as governor of Alaska, then conduct policy work with the Heritage Foundation while touring the nation on a speaking tour. Avoid a senate run and the cesspool of Washington politics, then make a run for the presidency after a few election cycles had past.
Obama is taking a giant wrecking ball to America, and I am afraid America can not wait that long. Obama is causing so much harm to our nation he is ripe for defeat in 2012. He is the first president I have seen who appears not concerned with re-election to a second term. His handlers have him going hard left, fast and furious to enact as much of their destructive socialist policies as possible before the 2010 mid-term election. Obama is bankrupting our nation. I wonder how many Obama voters actually voted for all of this?
To beat Obama in 2012, the Republicans need an articulate, genuine, unapologetic conservative whose conservative, pro-America platform will make a stark contrast to Obama's destructive policies. The only Republican candidate I see standing out with the courage to challenge Obama is none other than Sarah Palin. And she doesn't need a teleprompter to speak!
