Thomas Jefferson wisely said that "the greatest calamity which could befall us would be submission to a government of unlimited powers". In the 2008 presidential election, America sadly did just that.
America is marching head long into socialism and most Obama sheep do not understand what they voted for. The majority of Americans do not even understand what socialism is. Sadly, too many Americans are sponges who watch the news once or twice a week believing everything the left wing media feeds them because they are too lazy to research facts. Slogans and propaganda are easy sells to Obama supporters who never questioned his soaring rhetoric. Class warfare rhetoric of screwing achievers and producers is a popular sentiment during tough economic times.
America was founded because of a rejection of overreaching government. We are now faced with a government that will strip away our individual freedoms one by one for the next four years in the name of fairness, equality of results, and income redistribution. America is the greatest nation in the world because of our individual freedoms and liberty which allow people to achieve to their fullest potential and strive for prosperity to the best of their own individual ability. We have the strongest economy in the world because of individual responsibility and our free market system. The entrepreneurial spirit of the American people makes our nation great. Not big government.
The federal government will now confiscate as much of the private sector as possible. Nationalizing banks and the automobile industry will be a disaster. The trillion dollar plus porkulus spending program debated in congress will not revive our economy and will only lead to massive deficits, deeper recessions, future inflation, and higher unemployment. Most of the money from Obama's welfare expansion plan will not reach the economy until late 2010 or 2011. According to the Heritage Foundation, the House porkulus bill will increase welfare spending by $787 billion to a staggering $9.8 trillion over the next ten years costing the average taxpaying household $127,000.00. You can bet that these temporary increases in welfare spending will be made permanent. Increasing welfare will not put a penny into our economy.
The current porkulus spending bill bans funds provided to colleges and universities from use in renovating buildings where students engage in worship. $4.1 Billion is allocated to ACORN to continue engaging voter fraud activities. How is this going to stimulate our economy?
Increased government spending will never revive our economy. The trillion dollar TARP rescue bill failed to revive our economy. As a matter of fact, $78 billion from TARP is missing and the government can not account for it!
The only measure that will revive our economy is tax cuts. Cut the corporate tax rate to 12% to 15% and cut income taxes. Tax cuts will encourage investment, increase consumer spending, and create millions of new jobs.
Socialist Europe has failing economies and skyrocketing unemployment. Today countries like France, Sweden, Germany, and China are cutting taxes. Russia now has a flat tax of 15%. Nations abroad are turning toward our conservative principles of lower taxes to stimulate economic growth while we turn away from our own proven principles for economic growth. Obama and the Democrats will turn America into a failed socialist society. Japan has already proven that government can not spend their way out of a recession.
America gave Obama a sweeping victory to implement his radical socialist policies and central government control. Obama's goal is to transform America into a society where the majority of people do not pay taxes, and are victims that live off meager government hand outs at the expense of those who achieve, produce, and pay taxes. A voter majority of welfare recipients will never vote for Republicans who want tax cuts for those who pay their way! Obama will rush to legalize illegal immigrants and put them on a quick path to citizenship to reach his goal. And John McCain will be there to help his friend, and continue to poke his own party in the eyes.
Obama will not moderate his policies. Right out of the gate Obama has made a mad dash to the left by ordering the closure of Guantanamo Bay detention facility, ordering the release of the terrorist mastermind behind the bombing of the USS Cole, and allocating taxpayer dollars for funding overseas abortion clinics. Four of Obama's cabinet nominees are tax cheats, his nominee for Director of the CIA sought the destruction of this very agency during the Clinton presidency, and newly confirmed Attorney General Eric Holder is a terrorist sympathizer. Under Obama, we will continue the same failed Clinton foreign policy of appeasement, concessions, and deceit which will place America at great risk of attack.
The battle for the courts is lost for now. Obama will have the opportunity to appoint at least one liberal judge to the Supreme Court and he will fill the lower courts with radical liberals. Sadly, Republicans have never shown a willingness to fight to protect our Constitution and our courts from radical jurists who impose their liberal policy preferences on our society.
Republicans in congress must fight Obama every day of his presidency. If Obama is successful in implementing his anti-American policies this will be the death of democracy and the death of our economy. Republicans must fight to slow the massive government expansion Obama has in store for us. Conservatives in congress must also forcefully oppose the Obama-Pelosi welfare expansion bill.
Conservatives must also focus our fight on two key issues that will reduce the carnage of Obamunism - preventing nationalized healthcare and amnesty for illegals. Socialized medicine is a complete failure in every country that suffers from its symptoms of delay, deny, and then you die. These are the two key tipping points that are battles we can win. We won the first round of the amnesty battle with George W. Bush.
Obamunism will fail. But like FDR's failed policies, the damage from Obama will be felt for generations to come.
