Nation Owes President Bush a Debt of Gratitude

The future will decide whether or not the Bush legacy will be looked upon positively or not.  But today America owes President Bush a debt of gratitude.

Whether you like President Bush or not, our 43rd president was successful in his most important duty - keeping America safe.  President Bush is an honorable, genuine, gracious, and decent man who led America through some of her darkest hours and days. After 9/11 everyone thought another terrorist attack was just around the corner.  But seven years later to the surprise of us all, that day never came.

In the aftermath of 9/11, President Bush immediately shifted the focus of his presidency to wartime and protecting America and our allies around the world.  Bush strengthened our military and our intelligence services, and took the fight to the terrorists.  Something Bill Clinton never did.  We can all debate the presidents tactics and strategies, but he genuinely did what he thought was best for America. Thanks to President Bush we now have terrorist surveillance programs, tough interrogation techniques, better communication and cooperation among intelligence services, and a stronger and better trained military.

The media savaged a decent man everyday of his presidency and reported lies and distortions with glee in order to damage him politically.  Sadly too many Americans take their marching orders from the media and believed the medias treasonous crap.

President Bush was not a conservative and had many shortcomings which I will not go into now.   But give him his due for protecting America.

God bless you President Bush and thank you for keeping America safe. May the wind be always at your back.
