The growing chorus of Republicans and some conservatives who have stated they "hope Obama succeeds" is alarming.
Why would anyone who embraces individual freedom and liberty, free market capitalism, and limited government want Obama to succeed? Obama succeeding means that he is successful in forcing his radical big government socialist agenda on America. If Obama succeeds we will have higher taxes and more income redistribution, higher unemployment, a new New Deal that will cause a deeper recession, larger more intrusive big government that will take more control over the private sector and strip away more of our individual freedoms, weakened national defense that will put our nation in grave danger, disastrous nationalized healthcare, a ruinous energy policy that will destroy our economy, and a Supreme Court and federal court that will trample our Constitution. Success for Obama means two terms. For you Obama voters, that is eight years.
Does anyone who believes in the greatness of America really want Obama to succeed? Apparently no one in the Republican party has the courage to oppose Obama. Republicans are afraid to state they want the Messiah to fail. The GOP looks ready to roll over and play dead to Obama. Republicans did not know how to lead when they were in the majority and are already showing they do not know how to lead an opposition minority.
Adopting Democrat policies and trying to water them down is one of the reasons the Republicans are out of power! That is not conservatism. When will Republicans learn that they are supposed to defeat Democrats, not work with them?
41% of Americans do not pay taxes and live off those who do pay taxes. If Obama can transform the majority of Americans into welfare recipients living off government handouts, the Republican party will be doomed. Why would the majority vote for Republicans who want to cut taxes for those who pay their way?
Obama's socialist policies and experiments will fail. But the effects will last decades. I for one hope Obama fails.
