Obama won the presidency because no elected official in Washington has led a conservative movement for the past eight years. Bush was never a conservative and therefore had no intention of leading a conservative movement.
America became dissatisfied with Republicans because the Republican party has been taken over by moderates who abandoned timeless conservative principles of limited government, lower taxes, traditional values and morals, and strong national defense. One by one moderate Republicans who behave like Democrats have lost senate and house seats since 2006. Elected Republicans thought they could win by adopting Democrat policies and attempting to water them down. The Republican party abandoned conservatives, moved left, ran a moderate candidate for president, and got creamed.
A majority of Americans have decided that they want government to take care of them and want to be free of personal responsibility. This certainly reflects poorly on what our nation has become. Class warfare sentiments certainly ran strong in this election. Americans have been fooled by phony promises of hope and change.
We lost this battle, but the war is not lost. Americans respond to leadership. A motivated conservative base led by an unabashed conservative leader will rescue America from the carnage of Obama. It won't be long before the average Obama voter starts saying, "what, I did not vote for this". Obama's radical liberalism and communist policies will fail.
A new battle for our country starts tomorrow.
