Will the outcome of the presidential race be the fall of America like the fall of the Roman Empire?  There are disturbing similarities between the fall of the Roman Empire and what is happening in America today. 

The 2008 Presidential election will come down to a battle of conservatism versus liberalism.   Conservative principles and free market capitalism versus big government regulations and intervention, higher taxes, and big government socialist programs with the goal of ensnaring as many people as possible into government programs.  A society where people have the freedom to prosper and achieve to their fullest potential versus a society where people rely on the government to survive in poverty with little hope of upward mobility.

Those are two very stark choices.  Conservatism is a time tested philosophy and a movement, not a campaign slogan.  Strong national defense, lower taxes, and limited government are three key principles of conservatism. Conservatism believes that Americans should be free of big government regulations, intervention, and higher taxes, and be allowed to achieve to their fullest potential in a free market society. 

Democrats will have none of that.  Free markets mean people are free to pursue their dreams and prosper on their own. Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama do not want Americans to prosper and have the opportunity to increase their wealth.  Liberal Democrats desire an America where people have equality of wealth and equality of results.  That way there are no winners and losers, just equality.  There is no place for achievers in the Democrat playbook.  Achievers are winners who do not need government hand outs which keep you living in poverty. 

Democrats desire a society where citizens are not achievers but rather victims who need tax payer funded government handouts to survive.  Conservative Republicans desire a society where people of all walks of life are free of government regulations and have the opportunity to achieve to their fullest potential (as long as they are US citizens).

The more the government provides you, the less freedom you will have.  Conservatives believe Americans should have the freedom to make their own choices.   Liberals do not want you to have freedom to make your own choices.  Democrats want to regulate how much money you earn, what you eat, what kind of car you drive, how you heat or cool your home, take away your freedom to choose your own healthcare, and ban smoking in public.   That is communism. You can not prosper if the government has you by the throat.

When the federal government raises taxes to take money from the achievers and distributes that money to the poor in the form of government handouts and socialist programs, that is robbery.  People should recoil in horror when they hear the likes of Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama play up class envy and speak of equality of results, equal distribution of income, punishing people and companies who earn what they determine to be excessive salaries and profits.  Democrats do not understand the concept of free markets which stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship.  Small businesses are the largest employers.  Successful businesses employ people while providing healthcare plans and 401k plan benefits.  Democrats do not embrace businesses, they punish them for their success.

Nothing will stifle economic growth faster than higher taxes, increased government regulations, and increased government spending.   Higher taxes reduces personal wealth and consumer spending, which leads to a reduction in the production of goods and services and increased unemployment.  That hurts the little guy, the big guy, and all those in between.

Conservative Republican believe in strong national defense and winning the war on terror. Because we are the lone superpower, Democrats believe we are the bad guy, and we are causing the worlds problems (not to mention global hysteria, I mean global warming).  Democrats resent our military and our superpower status, and want to surrender to the terrorists.   The three major Democrat candidates for President are now engaged in a foot race to see who would pull our troops out of Iraq fastest if God forbid they became president. 

Conservative Republicans believe in preserving and defending our Constitution as it was originally written.  Democrats want to destroy our Constitution and appoint liberal judges to the federal and Supreme Court who disregard our Constitution, make up things that are not in the Constitution, and use foreign law to make decisions.  Democrats have been very successful at using the courts to advance their radical liberal policies that would never pass at the ballot box.  Judicial abuse is a serious problem in our country.  Conservative talk show host Mark Levin's book Men in Black provides eye opening insight to the consequences of judical abuse.

Rush Limbaugh is fond of saying "conservatism wins every time it is tried in a national election".  Republicans need solid conservative presidential candidates who are not afraid to articulate clear conservative principles in simple terms to the American people like Ronald Reagan did so effectively.   Republicans will not win the White House with moderate positions and pandering to Democrats or Independents (Democrats) for votes.   If the Democrats win the White House in 2008, we will suffer from massive government expansion and an overreach of government power that will lead us away from a free market society and into a communist society.

Goverments most solemn responsibility is to protect American citizens from enemies foreign and domestic. The War on Terror and national security will once again be key campaign issues in the 2008 presidential race.  Americans must ask themselves who will better protect our great nation from Islamic Jihadists.

The Republican party has a long history of strongly supporting our military, defending our country, and protecting our interests and allies abroad.  The Democrats led by communist front runner Hillary Clinton have a long held disdain for our military and are weak on national security.  Let us examine the Democrats shameful recent history on national security.

• When Hillary Clinton was "Co-President" as she liked to call herself, our military strength was cut to dangerously low levels, new weapons programs were canceled, bases were closed, and our intelligence services were dismantled.  During the Clinton years America suffered a humiliating retreat form Somalia and America was attacked by terrorists six times.  The Clintons did not respond with military force to any of these attacks which embolden terrorists to attack us on 9/11.
• Democrats never give our military credit for successes in Iraq and Afghanistan.
• Senate Leader Harry Reid declared the Iraq War was lost many months ago.
• Congressman John Murtha accuses our Marines of committing cold blooded murder, Democrat Dick Durbin has slandered our military as thugs and murderers worse than Pol Pot, the Soviets, and the Nazis; Senator John Kerry accused our troops in Iraq of terrorizing women and children, and Democrat presidential candidate Barak Hussein Obama accused our airmen of air raiding villages and killing innocent civilians.
• Democrats and their friends in the media routinely invent bogus scandals to discredit our military.
• Military commanders are insulted, called liars, and labeled as fools.
• Democrats lobby to provide Constitutional protections to terrorists and aggressively attempt to dismantle the Patriot Act.
• Democrats have called for the release of terrorists from Guantanamo Bay Prison and demand that Gitmo be shut down.
• Abu Ghraib, a minor incident, is politicized to discredit and undermine our entire armed forces and our President.
• Classified information is routinely leaked to the media.
• Democrats obstruct crucial programs such as the terrorist surveillance program which they labeled as eavesdropping on Americans.
• House Leader Nancy Pelosi traveled to Syria to meet with our enemy who is responsible for deaths of US soldiers in Iraq.
• Democrats want to cut and run from the terrorists in Iraq, and have attempted to shut of funding for the Iraq War. 
• Former Presidents Carter and Clinton travel abroad and trash the United States.

 

If this is not bad enough, this week liberal Democrats have sunk to new levels of treason.  Democrats in the Senate are pushing for a resolution to denounce Turkey for a 100 year old genocide incident.  Thats right, an incident that occurred 100 years ago.  Why are Democrats doing this now?  Because Turkey in an ally in the Iraq War, allowing overflights of troops and supplies to the theater.

With Republicans in the White House we can be assured that we will remain the worlds superpower.  If Hillary Clinton or any other Democrat wins the White House, God help our country.

The most important duty of our elected officials in Washington is to keep Americans safe.  However the Democrat controlled congress has spent the last several months refusing to fund our troops who are laying their lives on the line to protect us. 

Democrats in Washington have decided that it is more important to spend according to the Heritage Foundation $2.5 trillion dollars over the next several years throwing the doors of our country wide open to third world immigrants and illegal aliens.  This is amnesty folks.  Free healthcare, welfare support, free education, food stamps and drivers licenses for illegal aliens, but nothing for our troops.   This is what you voted for America.  America voted Republicans who strayed from their conservative principles out of office and voted in anti-American Stalinists. 

Amnesty will destroy our healtcare system and education system, drive up the crime rate, drive down wages, and destroy America.  But the president and Democrats in congress including some Republicans view criminal aliens and third world citizens as future voters.  Politicians in Washington are more interested in increasing their power than serving American citizens.  Our Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves.

Our Founding Fathers intended for our goverment to be servants of the people, not the other way around. 

President George Bush has clearly placed the well being of Mexicans and other foreigners who enter our country illegally ahead of all Americans.  Bush must be the most tone deaf president in our history.  Americans overwhelmingly oppose amnesty for illegal aliens.  Yet our president continues to pander to illegals and press forward with his despicable amnesty plan for tens of millions of aliens who reside here illegally violating our laws.   Many senators and congressmen in Washington support Bush's amnesty plan in an effort to pander to new potential voters.

Illegal immigration is one of the most important problems facing our country.  People who enter our country illegally breaking our immigration laws are criminals, not "undocumented workers".  These people come to our great country not to live the American dream, but for a free ride at the expense of the American taxpayer.  Illegal aliens live on welfare, receive free medical care, dramatically increase the crime rate, and overwhelm public school and healthcare resources.  Illegal aliens drive down wages and do not pay taxes.   Amnesty for tens of millions of illegal aliens will cost the American taxpayer hundreds of millions of dollars per year.

We have been taken down this road before by Senator Ted Kennedy who wrote the previous immigration bills of the 1960's and 1980's that provided amnesty for millions of illegals.  Back then we were told there were only several hundred thousand illegals living in the shadows of our country.  Now we are being sold a bill of goods that there are roughly ten million illegals milking the system in our country. 

Bush claims that illegal aliens fill jobs that Americans refuse to perform.  That is an outrage.  Try making that argument to members of our military, commercial fishermen, and coal miners.  There is no work that Americans will not do.  Most Americans however do not want and can not afford to take cheap labor jobs.  In California masonry workers who formerly earned over $20.00 per hour are luck if they earn $15.00 per hour today thanks to illegal aliens.

Our open borders are a grave security threat to our nation. It is an outrage that President Bush refuses to secure our borders, especially in a time of war.  Whatever happened to the thousands of National Guardsmen that Bush promised would be deployed to protect our southern border?  Today the Bush justice department prosecutes and imprisons border agents for doing their job!

Mr. Bush continues to make the argument that the only solutions to illegal immigration are mass deportation or amnesty which he claims is comprehensive reform.  There is a very simple solution to our immigration problem. Solve the problem through attrition. Secure our borders, enforce our existing immigration laws, remove all welfare assistance and non emergency medical care for illegals, make it a felony to live in our country illegally, severely punish companies who hire illegals, and change our citizenship laws.  Under our existing citizenship laws anyone who is born in America is a US citizen.   Illegals who give birth in America in most cases can not be deported because their child is a US citizen.  Children born to illegal aliens should not receive citizenship. States should not be allowed to provide drivers licenses and college tuition benefits to illegal aliens.  Our current system of catch and release needs to become catch and deport. If illegals no longer receive welfare, healthcare, and other government hand outs, can not find work, and live under the threat of imprisonment for violating our immigration laws, they will slowly go home.

Sadly Congressman Tom Tancredo is the only presidential candidate who takes the immigration problem seriously.  All other presidential candidates either pander to illegals or refuse to address the seriousness of this threat to our country.  Tancredo is a hero for opposing Bush and for waging his battle against illegal immigration.   Our immigration problem touches so many aspects of our society; national security, healthcare, education, employment, housing, and law enforcement.

Our country is no longer built on immigration as it was in the late 1800's and very early 1900's.  Illegals do not assimilate into our culture and are not interested in becoming patriotic American citizens. There is something very wrong in our society if Congress needs to debate whether or not to establish English as our official language. If Congress works with Bush to pass an amnesty bill you will not recognize our country in ten years.  Our unique culture and the very fabric of our society which make America the greatest country in the world will be destroyed forever.

 

October was one of the bloodiest months in Iraq in many months.

With stepped up violence in Iraq, terrorists have announced their endorsement of the Democratic Party for the November mid-term elections.

A few years ago, terrorists successfully influenced the elections in Spain. Will America follow Spain’s lead and cut and run from Iraq and surrender in the War on Terror? The Democratic Party has done everything in their power to undermine our war effort in Iraq and has received a strong endorsement from Jihadist terrorists for their efforts. The Republican’s on the other hand want to take the fight to the enemy, and fight the enemy over there instead of here. President Bush’s policies for fighting the War on Terror where Iraq is the frontline are very unpopular with Democrats. Terrorists know they can not beat us on the battlefield. But they are confident they can win the war of public opinion with the Democratic Party and the mainstream media eager to be their willing accomplices.

If America chooses to cut and run in November giving Democrats control of the House and Senate, the consequences will be dire for many years to come. If the cut and run liberal Democrats gain control of both houses of congress, President Bush will face impeachment for NSA terrorist surveillance and financial monitoring programs, the Iraq War will be de-funded with demands for a timetable for withdrawal, terrorists will receive constitutional protections, Guantanamo Bay will be shut down, all of our surveillance tools used to fight terrorists will continue to be made public and continue to be judged unconstitutional, our borders will never be secured, and terrorism will once again be treated as a mere law enforcement matter.

National security is the most important issue in our elections. Terrorists can defeat us if we lose our will to fight, and vote to change our policies for fighting Islamofacism. The Democrats have done nothing to earn the trust of the American citizens to fight terrorists wherever they hide. Undermining our war effort with repeated calls for withdrawal, repeated accusations of atrocities committed by US forces, and appeasement are not a plan to win the War on Terror. John Kerry’s comments this week that our servicemen are stupid typify what the Democrats really think about our military. The actions of the Democrats since 9/11 are a disgrace to our great nation.

You can choose to try to avoid terrorism. But terrorism will always find you.

 

The mainstream media continues the drumbeat that conservatives are unhappy with the Republican controlled Congress and will sit out the mid-term elections in protest. Some conservative blogger’s and columnists are advocating sitting out the election to punish the Republicans for not accomplishing everything we expect of them.

Sitting out the election in protest thereby giving control of the House and or Senate to the liberal Democrats is insanity. Do we really want the Democrats in charge? Sure the Republicans in Washington have been very disappointing. But we have to give some slack to the House. Conservatives in the House for the past six years have been swimming upstream against President Bush and Republicans in the Senate on issues such as spending, illegal immigration, and border security, and do not deserve to be thrown overboard.

Don’t forget that President Bush and the Congress cut taxes revitalizing our economy, job growth, and prosperity. Bush has started to change the direction of the courts by appointing strict constructionist, not liberal activist judges to the Supreme and Federal Courts, and the Republican controlled Congress has fully funded the war effort to support our troops and keep us safe from further terrorist attacks.  Speaking of national security, do you want the Democrats hamstringing Bush on the nuclear weapons crisis with Iran, North Korea, and China?

If we lose control of the House, the following nightmare will come true. Nancy Pelosi will be Speaker of the House, Democrats will de-fund the war and impede our war effort, we will retreat on the War on Terror, some tax cuts will be rolled back, illegal immigration will become even more out of control, and true constructionists will no longer appointed to the Supreme and Federal courts. President Bush will face impeachment, and Democrats will spend the next two years blocking Bush’s agenda and bogging down the White House with endless investigations. This scenario sounds like utopia.

Conservatives have spent decades trying to change the direction of the courts by appointing strict constructionists to the bench. Our court system from the Supreme Court on down is filled with liberal activist judges who make up their own laws and legislate their liberal agenda from the bench. Democrats have used the courts to impose their liberal agenda on America. Changing the direction of the courts is critical to our country. We simply cannot abandon our goals because we are unhappy that we are not getting everything we want from our party.

Every congressional seat gained by the Democrats this November will make it that much easier for the Democrats to win the Presidency in ’08. How does President Hillary Clinton sound to you?

If you are thinking about sitting out the election next month, ask yourself this one question. Will it be easier to fight for our conservative ideals and principles with a party who actually supports some of our ideals and principles, or will it be easier to fight for our conservative ideals and principles against a party that opposes all of our ideals and principles? Stay at home at your own peril!

 

In this year’s governor’s race voters need to ask themselves two key questions. Do you want to have more control over the money you make? Do you want our state to be invaded by criminal aliens?

In a field of four candidates, there are only two serious candidates on the ballot, Republican Lt. Governor Kerry Healey, and ultra liberal Democrat Deval Dukakis, I mean Deval Patrick.

Lt. Governor Healey will support the will of the people by rolling back the individual state tax rate to 5%, and will work to control spending.

Kerry Healey supports enforcing our immigration laws that will help prevent criminal aliens from continuing to milk the welfare system in Massachusetts.

Deval Patrick on the other hand is a tax and spend liberal who openly opposes rolling back the state tax rate to 5%. Don’t believe Patrick’s spin that he will consider this issue further down the road.

Illegal immigration is now a major issue in state level elections.  The invasion of our country by criminal aliens is destroying our national identity and our culture. Aliens who enter our country illegally are criminal aliens, not undocumented workers. Illegal immigration is a massive drain on our welfare, healthcare, and education systems. Criminal aliens do not perform work that Americans refuse to do as some politicians would like you to believe. Criminal aliens drive down wages and cost American taxpayers tens of billions of dollars per year.

Deval Patrick is weak on immigration and would welcome criminal aliens into our state with open arms. Patrick supports issuing driver’s licenses and providing in state college tuition to those who are here illegally at the expense of the taxpaying citizens of Massachusetts. Providing in state college tuition and driver’s licenses to criminal aliens is a reckless policy that will result in an invasion of our commonwealth by people who violate our immigration laws costing Massachusetts taxpayers tens of millions of dollars per year. Providing drivers licenses to criminal aliens will allow them to have more freedom to move about our country. The 9/11 hijackers possessed multiple driver’s licenses which allowed them to move from state to state, register for flight school, and purchase airline tickets.

Crime has recently become a major issue in this election with recent news reports revealing that Deval Patrick has worked to free convicted rapists and murderers from prison and donated money to them.

A Democrat in the governor’s office will provide one party with complete, unchecked control over our state. If the Democrats are in charge we will witness unprecedented spending, tax increases, and illegal immigration that will make our state even more expensive and less desirable to live in.

 

The Republican Party deserves to lose the House and the Senate in the mid-term election to teach the GOP a lesson for betraying conservatives. The closer we get to the November elections, the more I hear and read sentiments like this.

As a Reagan Conservative, I am beyond frustrated at the lack of conservatism in the White House and the Republican controlled congress, especially in the White House and the Senate. Simply put the current Republican controlled congress is pathetic. The Senate and the President have been trying to ram amnesty for criminal aliens down our throats, our borders remain wide open, non defense government spending is out of control, and the federal government is getting bigger not smaller! With a Republican majority, Bush could not gain momentum on tax reform and social security reform, two issues that could help put the Democrats out of power for a generation. How sad.

President Bush does not lead a conservative movement because he is not a conservative. The president is unpopular not just because the left hates him, but also because he has betrayed his conservative base with his big government “compassionate conservatism”, amnesty for criminal alien’s, and his refusal to secure our borders. America has also grown very tired of Bush’s mismanagement of the Iraq War. You will never win a war with political correctness and by being nice to your enemy.

Time and time again we see Republican candidates campaign on a conservative platform, but once elected, betray their conservative base by enacting a liberal leaning agenda. No doubt part of their motivation is to be popular and part of the Washington social circuit.

But how does losing control of the House and or the Senate in November help our conservative movement? If Democrats gain control of one or both branches of congress we can say goodbye to all tax cuts and economic prosperity, the safety and security of our nation will be in grave danger, we will retreat on the War on Terror and Islamic Fascism, our military and intelligence services will suffer dearly, welfare programs will skyrocket, the courts will be packed with activist liberal judges, and we will witness unprecedented government expansion and spending. The only reason Democrats are mad at Bush for massive increases in government spending is that they are not in charge of it! Democrat victories in the mid-term elections would be a disaster for America.

I have never seen a successful strategy for victory dictate that you lose first. As painful as it will be to reward this Republican majority for their bad behavior, a Democrat victory would be significantly more painful and damaging. If the Democrats gain control of one or both houses, they might be in power for ten years or more.

Democrats are hoping conservatives stay home on Election Day and are trying to find ways to discourage conservative turnout. Staying home on Election Day is not a strategy for victory. A conservative crackdown, not defeat is a strategy for victory. It will not be easy and it will take time, but a grassroots conservative movement will defeat Rino’s like Lincoln Chafee, Lindsey Graham, McCain, and others in the primaries and replace them with solid conservatives committed to the ideals of limited government, strong national defense, fiscal discipline, lower taxes, and traditional moral values.

Ronald Reagan once said, “If there are those that cannot subscribe to these principles, then let them go their way”.

Over the past few days, thug Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela and his terrorist soul mate from Iran, Ahmadinejad have taken the opportunity while speaking to the United Nations to trash America and our president while on US soil.  Chavez continues his trash America tour today while speaking by invitation to several Democrat groups in New York.

This anti-American rhetoric coming from Chavez sounds like a broken record.  Why?  Because we have been listening to this same hate-Bush and hate-America rhetoric from the Democratic Party for the last six years.  Chavez is simply taking his talking points from the Democrats who have invited him to speak to their minions while in America!   Chavez's rhetoric is minor league in comparison to the incendiary anti-Bush and anti-America rhetoric we have heard from the Democratic Party.

For the past 24 hours there has been near silence from Democrat politicians.  Only today did Speaker of the House wannabe Nancy Pelosi and Congressman Charlie Rangel make tepid criticisms of Chavez.  Rangel actually expressed gratitude to Chavez before pleading with him to stop trashing America!  We are only now hearing from Pelosi and Rangel because they fear there is some unrest in America over the speaches made by Chavez and Ahmadinejad. 

How times have changed.  Back in the 1950's when Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev banged is shoe on a table and announced to the western world "we will bury you", both political parties expressed outrage.  Not today. The Demcrats enjoy Chavez because they view a foreign leader who is an ally with terrorist sponser nations and an enemy of the United States as their friend.

Chavez could be a gift from heaven for the Republicans this November.  President Bush should extend an offer to Chavez to continue his trash America tour for a few more weeks to stir up some outrage with American citizens.  Maybe Chavez can have a summit with the Dixie Chicks!

 

Immediately after 9/11 President Bush declared that America was at war with terrorists, and we would defeat all terrorists groups and nations who support, sponsor, and aid them.

The president’s failure to assist and lead Israel in the total destruction of Hezbollah demonstrated to the world that the Bush Doctrine is dead. Instead of wiping out a terrorist organization that is sponsored by our enemy Iran, Bush has resorted to name calling and has chosen to support yet another UN resolution to stop violence in the region. When has a UN resolution ever worked in the Middle East or any other part of the world? The UN is corrupt, supports terrorists, and despises the United States.

Osama bin Laden, Ahmadinjedad of Iran, and Basher Assad of Syria must be really be quacking in their boots! America has just backed down to terrorists who want to kill us!

After 9/11 the president established himself as a strong wartime president who would take the fight to the enemy and defeat terrorists wherever they hid. Today, Bush has become a weak wartime president who lacks the will to use overwhelming force to defeat our enemies and achieve total victory. The president refuses to secure our borders allowing untold numbers of terrorists to enter our country. Iran is developing nuclear weapons, and both Iran and Syria are openly supporting terrorists. President Bush is doing nothing about it.

Political correctness has become more important than total victory. Violence is on the rise in Afghanistan and Iraq continues to be a violent country with no end to terrorist violence in site.

Overall Iraq has been a success and is certainly not another Vietnam. Spreading freedom and democracy in the heart of the Middle East is a brilliant plan. But the president did not go into Iraq to destroy our enemy first. The president chose to first establish a free democracy in Iraq hoping to eventually convert the bad guys.

In Iraq, our military is routinely accused of committing atrocities and war crimes. Democrats are very quick to give terrorists the benefit of the doubt whenever civilians are killed during exchanges with our troops. Our troops are never given the same benefit of the doubt by left wing politicians.

Sadly, America has never been unified in the goal to defeat terrorism. The American Left despises Bush for his efforts to defeat terrorism, and the Democrats have undermined our military, our intelligence services, and the president every step of the way. Democrats blamed Bush for not connecting the dots before 9/11, and now side with the terrorists and accuse the president of breaking laws and conducting an illegal war. Democrats even tried to defeat the Patriot Act! In today’s Democratic Party you are an outcast if you support our troops in Iraq.

The Supreme Court recently decided that terrorists are protected by the Geneva Convention, and our military can not conduct military tribunals. The Senate led by presidential wannabe John McCain established the Al-Qaeda Bill of Rights to protect the poor terrorists from harsh interrogations, and also passed a bill allowing terrorists to appeal their prison sentences received in a military tribunal to a federal court! Democrats and a few Republicans continue calling for the closing of Guantanamo Bay.

Clintonites in the CIA and the State Department frequently leak sensitive information to the mainstream media to weaken our war effort. The New York Times has led the charge in weakening our war effort by publishing highly classified information on eavesdropping and bank transaction monitoring programs that are crucial tools in preventing future attacks.

Unlike World War II, today Americans have the privilege to go about their everyday life as if we are not at war. Because we are so fortunate, many Americans have chosen to ignore that we are at war with terrorists who are trying to destroy us. I used to think that America would need ten more 9/11 attacks to finally wake up to the reality of the dangers we face. But I am wrong. I fear that the only thing that will unify Americans in the total destruction of terrorism is a nuclear bomb detonated by terrorists on our soil. Future terrorist attacks will make 9/11 pale in comparison.
